Yes

3) Why are you interested in joining Conquest?
I have a friend that recently joined Conquest and I'm looking to join as a casual raider / filler for when a core raider can't make it. I'm not really looking for a permanent spot right now, but I believe I can perform just as well as any core raider. Double PvE trinkets in arena sounds fun too since I'll be faction transferring from horde to alliance. =)

4) If applicable, tell us why you left your last guild(s).
Had to take a leave from raiding due to real life reasons and decided I didn't want to raid full time anymore after.

5) Do you know any current Conquest members who will vouch for you? If so, please list their names.

Officer in a couple previous guilds prior to my current one, mainly in charge of DPS.

8) What do you want out of your playing time?
Just a good time.

9) Are you able to make all of Conquest’s raid times (Mon, Tues, Thurs 6-9 PST) on a regular basis?
Yes, I'm free on all those nights, but as I said before, just looking to fill in for absent people and raid casually, not looking to raid full time.

10) Are you able to listen and speak on Ventrilo?
Yes / Yes

11) Approximately what percentage of raids do you plan to attend?
Not sure yet considering the terms I'm applying under, but I'm flexible as to what the guild needs/wants.

12) Please describe your computer/internet setup and indicate whether you tend to have lag or connectivity issues.
Not gonna lie, I play on a shitty dell laptop but I'm on a 15 Mbs FIOS connection and never have D/C issues in raids.

13) Are you willing to occupy a bench slot (online and still available to sub in) when needed?
Considering my application so far, of course. I'm trying to find a full time spot on that comfy couch. =)

14) In your opinion, what do skilled players of your class and spec contribute to 25-man raiding?
The average shadowpriest brings fort/spirit/shadow prot to every raid as well as the misery debuff for additional hit for all casters. In my opinion, the thing that separates a skilled spriest from a decent spriest is how effectively they're able to use dispersion and to an extent, other abilities to maximize dps on each and every boss encounter. DPS is probably the best benchmark to judge a spriest by (assuming they don't die on every boss) and good use of dispersion and positioning plays an important part of maximizing dps. Examples include things like using dispersion during pungent blight to dps instead of getting spores and being able to eat Rotface sprays with VE. Also DoT management plays a huge part in maximizing dps (which they're making ezmode in cataclysm). VE also plays an important part in a fight like BQL where I can usually do 20k+ DPS and VE turns that into 4-4.5k HPS for my party.

15) What do you, as an individual, bring to raids that distinguishes you from average players? Here’s your chance to convince us that we need YOU for our team.
I bring teh deeps! =P I'm almost always 2nd caster dps behind our mage (which are horribly OP imo) and usually top 3 unless its a melee stacked fight like Saurfang. I'm also relatively good with strategies and theorycrafting about boss fights / classes.

10m- Pretty much 10k+ every boss, 13k on a couple fights and 22.5k on BQL.

25m - Second caster dps on almost every fight, all heroic except LK.
Marrowgar- 14.3k

Sex and the City - It's just simply an awesome movie.

17) What mods do you use, and why do you like them?
Get ready for a page long list. I usually like to change / replace my UI every couple of months because sometimes, I find making a new UI more fun than the game itself. =P

Quartz - Cast bar mod, love it, couldn't live without it
XPerl - Unit frames
PowerAuras - buff / debuff tracking mod, same as quartz - couldnt live without it
Grid - Unit frames for healing / dispels
MiksSCT - Combat text
Aloft - Name plate / hp bar add on
Bartender - action bar manager, love it, helps clean up my UI a lot
DoomPulse - CD pulse
Fortexorcist - dot tracker + cooldown manager
Purgeatory - dispel announce
Snowfallkeypress - helps speed up actions on down press of a key instead of up
Tbag - random bag add on

A few pvp add ons also,

I have a few others too that aren't too important and mostly cosmetic.

I'll post a UI pic once I'm able to get on, it's not as cluttered as the list looks. I take priority in having as clean / uncluttered UI as I can and hiding unnecessary add ons.

It might have been noted that I'm not using a boss add on in my list, and that's mainly because I believe it's not necessary. I think DBM is just a cluster of random rainbows making my screen in a giant mess. I occasionally use BigWigs for the timers on several fights like heroic LK, but I tend to mostly stay away from boss mods. If it becomes a problem, I'll be happy to get one full time.

18) Tell us one joke that you find hilarious (if that's too much pressure, any joke you find funny will do).
Haven't heard any recently, but pretty much anything Anstasia says makes me smile.

19) Is there anything else you want us to consider in reviewing your application?
Nothing much, I'm just the average Asian cowboy Texan, nothing special. =) I'm a senior studying Finance right now at SMU, easy as hell so I got plenty of time for WoW. =) Main thing I'm looking for is some lulz and I love to pvp, mostly tired of raiding so I'm not looking for anything too serious. I also want to clarify that, even though I'm not applying for a full time raid spot, it doesn't mean I won't play to my fullest when/if I'm in ICC. I have no intentions of underperforming, and to me, it's afking in Dal slacking or raiding in ICC doing everything I can to down each and every boss, not half assing a raid and wasting everyone's time. I hope my time isn't wasted either. =)

Seriously though, Uneeq is a good player and I can vouch for his skill. He's made it pretty clear he's coming over to be extremely casual though--so do with that what you will.

It's not often I get an app who says "Yes, I actually want to sit on the bench". Bigger bonus when its a player who's also experienced with the stuff that we're trying to progress through right now.

I admit, I am a little skeptical about your motives. Players like you who appear to be skilled, geared and knowledgeable usually have that hunger and desire to raid as much as possible. While those are the players I want, I'm also aware that having a strong team of backup raiders willing to come in at a moment's notice is also an incredible asset to have.

But, it'll be a yes for me. Let me know when you're on and available, and I'll fire you a ginvite. As you didn't technically apply for a full time raiding spot, I'm not going to set you as a trial for now. You'll start off as our social rank, but if you happen to gain more time and/or the desire to raid more again, we can always revisit that rank and change it in the future.

I prefer to furnish my bench quite nicely and make it as homely as I possibly can. It beats being on the front lines eating fireballs to the face imo. I decorated it with some dragon heads!

As far as my motives go, I was at one point, wanting to raid full time (4 days a week / 4 hours a night), but that was during the days when Ulduar new content. After during hardmodes and yogg on my druid, I was severely burnt out on raiding and took a break from the game along with the rest of my guild at the time. I didn't play from about Apr '09 until Nov '09 when I started again. I got bored of druid when I came back and since I was already behind on ToC, I made a new priest to play. My priest hit 80 in Feb '10 after ICC had already been out a couple months and so only has done ICC. This also explains why my experience answer doesn't include ToC. =P After I started playing on my priest, I decided I didn't want to get burned out again so I only pugged for a while until I joined my current guild. We started doing 25m about 2 1/2 months ago with 2 nights a week and have since downed 11/12 Heroic 25m with only 2 nights a week. It seems though that even with 2 nights, I'm starting to get bored of raiding and prefer to PvP. Sorry for the big wall of text.

Long story short - I have no hunger or desire to raid as much as possible at the moment.

The reason I made it so clear that I only wanted to be a back up is because I know if I raided full time, I'd get burnt out pretty fast and would disappoint some people, which I want to avoid. I'll be on and available though when I get back, just don't use and abuse me too much. =(

I'm just trying to take it easy until cataclysm is out for now, but if you guys consider me to be good enough to be part of the core, I'd love to be a raider in the new xpac. Hopefully for now, I can just be one of those incredible assets. =P

As far as when I'm available, like I said, it won't be until 8/8/10 when I get back to Texas from vacation.

As for the ranking, Anstasia said I should just apply for a social rank, but since I might raid, I figure I'd post a formal application. It makes no difference to me as long as I can goof off in gchat with either one.
